Will treatment be painful?
We will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. If treatment is needed, we will inject a small amount of anaesthetic to gently numb a concentrated area of your mouth. For most patients, the feeling of numbness usually subsides after 2-3 hours.
Will I need to return to your office for follow-ups after the procedure is finished?
Often following root canal therapy a review of healing is required which may occur 6 to 12 months after the procedure was finished. In some circumstances this is not required however your treating Doctor will advise you of this at the time of treatment. Our office will send a reminder notice to you when you are due for a recall appointment.
Will my Root Canal work?
Patients often report having had teeth extracted after root canal therapy is performed and hence are pessimistic about the potential outcome of treatment. As Root Canal specialists, we often see patients who need treatment of failing root canals however these failures are often the result of problems in the original treatment and once corrected, the tooth goes on to heal successfully. Our expectations for long term healing of diseased teeth are high and your individual expectation will be assessed and discussed with you prior to any treatment being commenced.
